hi i have a sony vaio laptop and start up keeps failing. it wont let me restore 2 a previous point. i dont have boot up disk but have recovery disk. ive tried seaching 4 probs n doing hardwear tests still no joy. any1 know what i can do ta. oh and i can get online in safe mode online. * +

If you can get on a safe mode try checking the disk for problem or insert recovery disk and try to recover * +

press f2 i think it is, it takes you to the bios. Go to page where the boot order is and set CD optical drive to first, then hard disk second. Then save and exit the bios. * +

the system should boot off the recovery disk. If that dosent work try holding the F10 key when you power up the laptop. Keep it held down until you get past the VAIO logo's. If you get a screen with text on it and a path command line press enter key * +

give it plenty of time while it boots up into the recovery utility. Its a bit slow. If that dosent work you may have to buy recovery disks from sony. * +
