Use win98 start up disk and do a partition and format b4 u install win xp. * +

so you wanna get rid of windows 7 and get xp right? in that case,the best way is to backup everything you ve got on the drive and that you will need on some external media and wipe everything down with the xp setup cd (delete all partitions listed) and click on the huge unallocated space,determine partition size and the rest will be done for you. after that you just install xp there * +

after you get xp set,format the rest of the free space into another partition for data and keep it all there. case the system needs reinstall in the future,your data will be safe on the other partition. *
