I bought a laptop today, AMD Quad core 1.8 with 4gb ddr3 ram, AMD Radeon 6470 with 1gb dedicated ram. My other option was an i3 370m 2.2 with 4gb ram but a Radeon 5470 card. Which lappy is better? I use my pc for games and laptop for working om the go, mostly adobe flash, dreamweaver and photoshop and took the quad core due to the 4 cores and multitasking. I can exchange it if someone here thinks * +

The amd wasnt the best choice, another option was a toshiba i5 2.5 and turbo boost to 2.8 but a lower graphics card and know that photoshop relies allot on a gfx card * +

I dont want any fanboy replies, this is purely for performance and file handling in Adobe CS 5.5 * +

The 5470 is an awful GPU. * +

Maybe shorten the list of comparison...AMD Phenom II 1.8 x4, intel i3 2.2, i5 2.5...the amd has the better gfx card...which one would handle multitasking the best...in Adobe CS5.5 * +

Ive heard stories about the i3 out performing that amd cpu even though its quad core. But I dont think the i3 will out perform the amd in every area, both cpu's have their strengths and weaknesses. But the i5 will thrash the amd in every department iam afraid. * +

Except for the gfx card...and photoshop relies allot on that extra boost...but would that justify the short coming in the cpu comparet to the gpu? * +

Took the 2.5 i5, 3gb ram and a 5460 gfx card * +
