My friend has got a new harddisk and he gave me his HD for win setup..... Now is it possible to fully copy paste my whole C drive into his C partition so that he can use my OS and softs?... I connected his HD and tried copying the C drive but some files refused to be copied showing security errors.... Now will I have to boot from a third HD and connect those two HD's then copy?... Any other easy method?.... * +

norton ghost is s**t screwed up a pc of mine, if its win7 just make back up discs, swop the drives in your pc, then use disks to install all your stuff, * +

if you have an external hard drive you can use win7 backup to make a system image on that, then swop your hard drives over then use that image saved to your external drive to install your stuff, that way is a lot quicker than making back up disks * +

you cant just insert a disk with windows from 1 pc to another. because of the hardware abstraction layer. you can use drive imagers but there designed to back up the machine not make an image that will work on another. *
