i just need something automated that will do the job for me,prefferably before the files are even written on the disk cause searching for files to rename on every boot or in idle process is not very performance wise. so,what i'm asking is to reject an extension from a system and replace it with my own using a set of predefined rules? * +

like, you want to save a file and the program wants to save it as jpeg, but the system searches the extension through the renaming rules and change it into one of compatible ones and save the file with system chosen extension (.jpg). i didn't register the jpeg extension and the system uses only usefull extensions while the rest is trashed or grouped if useful,so i need to handle/cut off the non used * +
