ive managed to damage windows 7 on my new laptop somehow after downloading windows updates. Everything was fine until the very last one. It said failed to install but then everything locked up on me and i was forced to hold the power button to shut down. When i turned it back on again windows wouldnt boot and got stuck with the option repair or normal. So i clicked repair but i got stuck at the point with a blue wallpaper and a mouse pointer. first got it and theres a recovery partition on the drive as well. Trouble is the recovery program that you run at boot by pressing the assist button with power off or f10 key after power on gets stuck too, even when i try with the usb stick. Windows safe mode wont work either. Im fked. * +

ive decided to press ahead with upgrading to an ssd drive like i said in my prev post, imaging off the old one and then go on various forums to find out how to unpack the data from the recovery partition to be able to run the recovery program to install windows again along with all the drivers and bloatware. * +

when i try safe mode it gets so far loading the files as they move up the screen and stops. I cant remember which one it stops on * +
