Well its true I Will be looking for one soon but its not that of which I Speak. According to the WHAT LAPTOP MAGAZINE the 3 most reliable laptop manufactures are ASUS, TOSHIBA and FUJITSU SIEMENS. thought I Would share that with people. This was the result of a recent survey. ACER and HP didnt fare very well. * +

my last laptop was a hp, had it for 5 years till i knocked coffee over it, replaced it with this one an acer oohhh look 2 years and still good as new, that blows that theory then, never ever ever listen to cr*p in magazines, tv adds, or what some spotted faced oink in a shop tell your remember just one rule THERE PAID to spout that cr*p by the manufatcures who want to sell you THERE item * +

I agree to a point. It depends how you look after it. Ive got an old sony vaio at home thats so old it runs windows 98. I saw it in my local cash converters for 25 quid. I bought it for some old win 95 and 98 games I still have. Its immaculate, really been looked after and in perfect working order. The screen is actually still quite good. 13 years old and still going strong! * +

The big question is though will todays laptops last that long even if they are maintained well? Somehow I have my doubts. It may have been different in the 90s. Laptops were stupidly expensive in those days meaning those that had them didnt replace as often as we do today. So they were made better, built to last. * +

this is where sods' law comes in to affect, you can spend thousands on a good item and drop it the next day, of spend a few quid and treat it like a baby and it'll out live you, at the end of the day a good quality product will do so long as you look after it * +

all the acers ive seen look cheap and nasty i never felt like i wanted to own one because of the materials they use the quality of the design and parts * +
