I visited a local currys recently and asked about intel laptops. I was told the core i3 is a quad core cpu. The i5 may even have 6 cores and the i7 nobody can afford. Ok its old news that DSGI staff have poor knowledge but this really takes the biscuit. Worryingly he sounded very convincing which means a non technical customer could easily believe it. * +

I got the impression he believed what he was claiming as well which is even more of a concern. When I put it to him there was no point in buying the i5 or i7 if the i3 was a quad cpu he just looked at me rather confused but then said the clock speed was twice that of the i3. With that I just thanked him and left the store. Now I Suppose you wandering why I never challenged him? But whats the point * +

But doesnt it make you wonder how many people are being told incorrect or misleading information? Comments from DSGI staff are welcome and iam afraid to say this is not an isolated case. I have visited many DSGI outlets and recieved simular false information. It makes me think they will just say anything just to sell the product. You see its my job. Well someone has to do it you know. * +

sales staff are generaly complete spanners anyway. Always research the product your interested in before buying. * +

Spot on, but its surprising how many people dont and decide to trust the sales staff. They must know cos they are trained and surrounded by the stuff every day. Its their job isnt it? * +
