graphical applications in windows,you need to know programming for windows which is based on c rules,but far more complicated. the point is,start applying your knowledge in practice,write a simple calculator or a text based game or something interesting for console,when you get a hold of that you can allready call yourself a c programmer. then it will be easier to start exploring winapi. * +

all the important stuff like variables,the cast operator,functions and their return values,types and structure of a program is least painfull and best understood through writting console programs,the way DevCpp tutorial and many others on the web teach. all these 'basics' are still widely used in windows programming as well and without them,programs would be unable to compile and if you make them * +
