my DVD rom doest read some of the disk and now i want install windows . it read only CD and my windows disk is on DVD disk i dont know what to do pls help * +

it might just me down to driver error, look under the laptop, you should see a few screws under the dvd drive, remove them and the drive should just slide out from the laptop. once removed, start the laptop up without the drive in, and run a reg cleaner eg. cclearer etc, to help remove errors in reg, go to device manager in control panel and see if anything is there relating to the dvd drive, * +

if there is, go to the properties of it and select uninstall, once that is done, run ccleaner again just to make sure.. reboot again. now windows should load up without any know drive in the registery, now turn off, refit the drive and boot up, wonce the os has loaded it should automaticaly install the necessary drivers for it, once done, try the drive, if this fails the drive has had it * +

no after typing all that, i know your going to say, ' but i cant log into windows' missing info off the post dont help, if this is the case your best bet is to borrow an external usb dvd drive and use that to install windows from your disk. * +

How many times have you dropped that laptop ? It could be that your laser is out of alignment also . * +

the only thing i did was this. i was using wds sp3 then i uprade it to vista stater then after that it was working then the next thing i dry to write a data DVD disk but now every DVD disk is not working i cant even go back to sp3 coz is on a DVD disk * +
