how do i make opera as a default browser? (windows pro xp) *

Settings/Prefrences/Advance/Programs/ tick the box check if opera is default browser at startup and then close opera and restart it and make opera your default browser *

i'd help you but i usually write to registry for dealing with file associations. but try the preferences window of opera,it should be somewhere around there *
