Got new ram but now my cooler is too low, will it work if i put it in the second slot? * +

depends what your configuration is. If you have a four slot board and one module, then to get dual channel to have to run it in the slot's 'pair' which would be shown in the motherboard manual or colour coded on the board, indicated etc * +

So then its up to you. The modules should always work in any slot but ideally you run them in pairs. If you already have two modules for example and add another then you can't have dual channel anyway so you can just put it where it fits. * +

Not sure whats wrong now...took my cooler off and the cpu csme off with it, so i uncliped the clip, ive managed to take some of the rams heatsync off to fit under the cooler in the first slot and put all together but now my d*mn cpu light is on * +

That indicates that the cpu is busted...but i had that light go on when my ram was faulty...the hardrives go on as well as the cpu fan but thats it * +

But it worked fine last night so not sure if i damaged the cpu or maybe the cooler isnt connecting propperly against the cpu? * +

Take all the components you played around with apart again and inspect them for any damage. Then carefully put everything back together and check if it works. * +
