Wont be doing much if the screen is blank you'll most likely need the cd to boot from it and normally f8 * +

it's F8 for safeboot . Be sure to check all cables and connections . Also , open the case and shine a light in there and look for any scorch marks on the video card . Be sure to check cables and connections in there too . * +
