is it not good to always hybrenate and switch off instead of shutting down? Hybrenate is faster at booting up. Is it advisable to hybrenate every time? * +

depends on the user really, most turn of for security reasons, and to save power. also saves ware and tear on the pc's components, a pc turned off each time will last longer than a pc running 24/7. even in hybernate the cpu, fans, hard drive are all still running to some extent * +

@acky.. can you explain how the hell it infects your file system, all it does is puts your pc in low power mode, just like putting your tv on stand-by * +

I think hibernate all it does is put all the data on ram into harddisk and turns all power off. and power supply can be switched off * +

Yes, Hibernate only saves a backup of RAM to Hard disk and completely switches off the system... Its not a low power mood or nothing like standby.... All the components of the pc is totally switched off.... * +
