Please i have a pc running windows xp sp2,my avast detects a virus system.exe showing is a malware but its never cleaned or deleted,so what my antivirus is doing now is to pull my .exe files from the program files dir. Please how can i go bout this... The location of the virus is in C:windowssystem32sytem.exe * +

if location is c:/windows/system32/system.exe i doubt that safe mode will do any good... better get copy of hiren's boot cd, and start pc from cd with mini xp and try to save your important data if there is... else format will be needed imho * +

avast has a boot scan option to remove certain viruses but anything in your system 32 folder thats infected or deleted could casue your pc to to become unstable or not boot up..like met said backup and reinstal * +

i so loved the new OS when reinstaling no back up needed just reinstal and it creates a windows old folder for you to just copy your stuff over * +

how would it caus problems i only do it for saved game files then delete it as i have partions for c drive only and games instal and software and driver instals...but for some1 like this just copy over your important stuff when reinstalled new os and deleted the windows old folder * +
