my pc (its old i know)cpu temp reach 65c on load,its p4 2.8gh n smtime reboot it self,i had change d heatsink but didnt help..any idea plz? * +

did you put thermal paste on the cpu before mounting the heatsink? * +

also when removing the old one get the paste remover solution thats what i do before applying new paste to my p4 3.6ghz when it needs reapplying again * +

sure i did..but even on bios it tells 61c ,i had change original heatsink but i got nothing,may it coz my mb's bios..i use abit lg-9c bios ver 12, i found on inet thers 14 ver..but worry about flashing it, i already had its file on harddive.. * +

when i use ori heatsink it fan speed reach 4700 rpm,i use cpuid hw monitor * +

65 degrees loaded for a pentium 4 is not all that high, especially if you have a fairly warm environment. If it is the stock heatsink then you probably couldn't hope for much better performance unless you have a couple case fans perhaps? * +
