My friend has converted some movies for me in mpeg4 so I can watch them on my iPhone. However my MacBook pro does not open the film and iTunes won't import it. But my friend has no trouble viewing the same file on his Pc or transferring it via iTunes for the iPod touch. Only difference is it's a windows Pc. I remember while I had windows that I had to install k-codec pack to view some film formats * +

Does the same apply with macs? Am I missing some form of codec pack? I don't have this problem with every movie, just some. * +

Seems like a lot of people have problems with codec on mac,video and video streaming problems.i need had mac but just by reading these forums made me decide to rather stay with windows lol * +

Get VLC-it'll play anything. Also, as plzgvhug said MP4 should play-it is the native codec after all. * +

Getting vlc won't help me if I can't get my mac to recognise it. Mac needs to recognise it so that iTunes can recognise it to be able to get it to my iPhone. Is it the case that certain types of film have a different mp4 format than perhaps in the way it is converted which makes it unrecognisable? * +
