recently i have been wanting to get back into basic programming. i tried python but didnt like the interface... i wil be trying, just basic next, but if you guys have any suggestions feel free to drop em here. ps. im not interested in java, vbasic or any other object orientated language. i want somthing that resembles old microsoft basic that is intuative, easy to lean easy to debug and has a * +

if you gonna use peeks and pokes your have to learn assembler for the cpu too, thats if you intend to do that. You might prefer 'C' to be honest. Its got a clean interface and you can program in a structured way and dont need to use object orientated style programming. You can use just a text editor and a command line compiler or use something like borland C with the intergrated editor and compiler and debug*er which will feel somewhat like old microsoft apps or get an old DOS copy. * +

lol m8 i already can programm assembled to a point. i just want a quick and dirty basic, that will let me peek and poke directly into variables and strings not hit the hardware as thats now pointless but addressing designated areas of ram is what i need from it. and basic, with the rite command set can do what i need. * +

@jay.mack have you ever tried PHP ? i know.. it's not the real programming, it's script language.. BUT, once you good with PHP, you will easily undertsand C, C, C++... you can basicly code in any other language

i have run a few websites but my knowlage of php and my sql are limited. like i say i just want basic as i already know how to program it and will get back on the horse quickly so to speak. * +
