CUDa is good. Sandy bridge + IGP is better. Still we are talking only 5-10 minutes these days where a fast pentium 4 might take like an hour * +

what video encoder supports quick sync? i know photoshop supports hardware mpe and cuda will only be made use of if the program or plugin is coded for it. faster disks especially a pci-e raid controller give you a huge boost especiall with 1gb encodings * +

btw what is video editing? encoding and decoding of video. and no its not the fastest. maybe on a 32bit cs4 but on a 64bit cs5 which make use of the bandwith it gets beaten by a i7 920 running at 3.7 against the 2600k running at 4.7ghz * +

Video editing is not video transcoding
just like music editing isn't changing a CD to an MP3 file.....and i already said it depends on the program you use. Either way quick sync wins, assuming you are not using a discrete GPU * +
