Question: I Understand usb memory sticks have to meet a certain spec to be compatable with windows ready boost in terms of read and write speeds at least. But even if the stick is fast enough doesnt it still require software to work with ready boost as a lot of generic sticks dont include any software. Assuming the stick is fast enough can the relevant sofware be downloaded? * +

Or is it a case where, if windows reports it as not compatable it is not and never will be end of story? Curious. * +

Its pointless. Too slow * +

But surely it must offer some improvement over the compatable stick not being there at all? * +

I was enquiring over a compatibility issue rather than a performance review! * +

You can try to format your stick with different file allocation sizes to see if it'll get compatible., It works with some sticks that windows reject in the first place. *
