A few of you guys will recall i was over the moon when i got my 500GB external but like most good things i now want a bigger one. 1TB or 1.5TB or 2TB. mine is a Seagate External Desktop 500-GB Drive ST305004EXD101-RK. which one would be better between a Seagate barracuda 1.5TB ST1500DL003 or STAC2000200 FREEAGENT GOFLEX DESK 2TB or this STAA1500200 FREEAGENT GOFLEX ULTRA my external has 7200RPM though * +

may i ask why the barracuda 1.5TB ST1500DL003? by the way is it available as external coz all the pics i see of it is like its an internal.and doesnt the RPM play a role... the quicker the HD is in that can even be advantageous to games running from the drive. * +

I've got a 500GB Seagate, in the past years its not had any problems.You must know the buffer size (16MB is good but 32MB is great) and the data transfer rate(1589 Mbits/sec is okay).Another factor is the thermal control.Just read enough forums concerning the HDD you want to get. * +

will read up on those but i thught someone has had experience with the above mentioned drives. currently i do not have any issues with my portable. not sureo f its buffer size just know that its a 7200RPM drive. also mine is super silent. * +
