Yeap, i have one that it came with my Canon scanner. Very useful program, its name is ScanSoft Omny Page. These programs called OCR programs (Optical Character Recognition). I dont know if there is out any freeware OCR app, make a Google search. * +

Thats an installer app anduan... I needed a standalone setup file... Because of my poor net connection, installer app always fails in the middle way... Btw, just downloaded one named SimpleOCR 3.1 http://simpleocr.s3.amazonaws.com/InstSocr.exe ... But its false detection rate is very high and scan result is poor... * +

The OCR 3.0 is about 10MB, so try the installer. How poor is your Net connection? * +
