usually the hardware is the one who trys to keep up with the games not otherwise, so if u buy a mid end laptop it'll become useless for gaming very fast! * +

Look its obvious that laptops just aren't very good for gaming unless you waste a whole pile of c ash and even then they have a limited life, because you cant upgrade the GPU, or even that they fail anyway. If you game on one often then don't expect it to work for years. Their very nature makes them most susceptible to failure aftr 3/4 years * +

I wasn't planing on more that that, 3-4 years is a respectable worktime for a gaming laptop, and now there are options for upgrading it. you asked for a good gaming laptop, there isn't a mid performance gaming lapy. go for the hardc*re or something close or buy a standalone witch is cheaper for the same performance. * +

honestly i find gaming laptops a joke.they suck so much power they need to be connected to the mainsor the battery lasts 30-90mins so you may as well get a desktop and save a wad of cash... and if you really want to game in bed then you can connect a wifi from your pc to your tv and get a wireless keyboard. * +

basicaly if you have a big gfx card your mobility goes out the window. so you end up getting a netbook to do your mobile stuff on and leave the lappy plugged in. lets face it a desktop doesnt take that much room unless you let it. * +

lol gaming on your bed. good one. i was looking for a marriage of the two. portability gaming. doesn't have to be high end. just a decent card in it. titles in mind are Blur, resident evil 5, bulletstorm, prototype, dead space 2, GTA IV, Marvel vs capcom 3, far cry 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops fifa 11. on the lenovo tip y450 y550 seem decent. * +

y460 not y450 sorry. oh and the lenovo come with 5730. saw it as a better option to the 5650. plus the price is around R7000. have a friend who has A HP laptop with what i thought to be 9200M GS but it could play anything he threw at it such as prototype. we didnt try crysis but far cry 2 and prototype ran smoothly. *
