Newbie to online gaming so any advice will really help. Does anyone know any tips on how to reduce ping in online games? i know the bandwidth provided by ISP is the most determining factor but besides that... Any other ways to reduce lag in online games. How true are the myths of giving either online game or internet program high priority? Using apps such as game booster? * +

darn... how about usb dongle? its not that bad but as most people will tell you. its annoying. It also sucks getting kicked out of servers coz of it. * +

wireless is the biggest sin. including usb dongles. you automaticaly double your ping with em. direct connect via a wire to your modem even if the wire is 30 feet long it will give a better ping than wireless. coz you wont have any problems with signal variation, double packets being filtered or any of that other stuff that comes with wireless. finaly optomise your mtu and your line toget the most * +

cant get rid of the usb dongle so i guess the best i can do is optimize my MTU as you put it.. don't think line applies. but thank for the info.. will just try optimize it the best i can. stick to it till i get a better connection * +

Dunno if they work but u can get antennas that plug into or strap onto ur dongle to improve signal *
