I've just bought myself a new PC, but I'm struggling to run games on it. company of heroes just about runs smoothly on lowest settings but anything newer is a jumpy mess. it's got AMD triple core 3 ghz and 3 gig of RAM so I'm guessing the integrated graphics is the problem. what graphics card should I go for? budget is around 50 quid * +

depends on the power supply and what will fit inside the case. Best you could probably hope for brand new is a 5550 or a GT430 which are slow, secondhand will get something a bit faster like a 9800GT * +

GT240 is dirt cheap and can fit in any tower. Its a good option only if you are not a hardc*re gamer. * +

You should save up and spend 4 times that on a graphics card * +

Well thats a bit overkill....Everyone has a budget for their needs. A 50 pound card will not be kicking every games as* but its adequate, for most games and modest settings at decent resolutions. 85 pounds however would buy a significantly better card, beyond that it takes more and more money for less and less performance boost. * +

if u are not willing to run every game at max settings then go with gt240 * +

for that price i would personally go for a 2nd hand 8800gt or 9800gt * +

5770 minimum. otherwise save up till you have enough. Remember you need a good psu as well. Save up a bit more rather. will be better in the long run * +
