gud day guyz! i have a biostar N68S3 mobo. manual says max shared video is 512mb. can i put a 1gb VC in it? and whats the difference between ddr2 and ddr3 video card? and can u put a ddr2 VC on a DDR3 mobo like mine? and can u suggest an average VC for my mobo? thanks experts! * +

you motherboard would use the system ram to create gfx ram, but when you inswert a gfx card it returns it to the system. the gfx ram on the gfx card is seperat from the system ram so can be as much as the gfx card allows. yes you can use any ddr ram as the gfx ram is seperate as i said. you can use ddr2, ddr3 or ddr5 on a gfxcard without it affecting the system ram... ddr2 ram is slower than ddr3 * +

as a general rule, the faster the ram on the gfx card the better. the motherboard will only be able to handle the ram that it supports but as i say the gfx ram on the gfx card has no bearing on the ram of the motherboard. * +

when you insert a gfx card you will have to go into bios and tell it to stop sharing system ram with the onboard vga adapter, you shold also dissable this if you can, often that means turning on peg mode. * +

if your motherboard is recent and your intendin on using vista or win 7 you will also need to set the hpet mode in bios, 32 for 32bit o.s and 64 for 64bit o.s. for xp you should dissable it. * +

they are what i describe m8. hpet, is hi precision event timer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Precision_Event_Timer, if you dont have an asus motherboard then dont worry abt peg mode. its just there way of handling the gfx card. * +
