the 980x has better resale value in the future compared to a i7 920 , in 8 months or so when ivy bridge arrives i could still get a fair bit of cash for it , the 920 wont be worth a lott then . im gonna go for it i think . i do a lott of audio work and the extra cores will help a lott * +

2600k or a 980x the 2600k just punishes everything on the market pretty much and at 240 pounds its still better value than a 980x at 400 yeah you may get better resale value but you are spending quite a bit of cash in the hope that you can stil get 400 for it at the end of the year. * +

Im not laying anything down. Its just not worth it when you can see how much faster the new generation is again. 980 might have decent resale value but by this time next year intel hexacores will be like under 300 quid and much faster than anything from the nehalem generation * +
