all my utilities and cpuz only picking up 2 cores in bios it shows all cores enabled does it mean 2 of my cores are dead??? cpu's a i7 920 * +

na it's updated orthos show 4 threads used to show 8 threads tast manager shows the same everest to and yes i do get temp reading for the 2 cores and the load on cpu is now 50percent and os not so responsive as it used to be it stuttery * +

you wont know till you try it in another board. the cheapest way to test is to take it to a shop. it sounds like the motherboard may bot be powering 2 lanes propperly, if your still getting temps for all cores then they should be working. i know iys a pain but if you take the chip to the shop and get em to test it, you will have to pay but it wont be as much as a new cpu or motherboard. * +

theres nothing wors than forking out for a new board only to find its the chip, or vise versa. * +
