This is tried and tested by me when i inserted my flash drive infected with olja and autorun.inf worms on a pc that has an anti virus. It virtually deleted it but actually it just hid it. Especially in quarantine mode. You can retrieve it when you insert your flash drive on pc booted with linux Operating system. You can also do this to clean your drive and make it malware free *

I'm talking about malicious softwares that run on windows o.S. Which fails to run on linux environment so the malwares will get exposed. And maybe you can do the vice versa removing linux malware on windows. But linux malwares are rare and strong. You can install linux os for free on ubuntu.com *
