Ok, so i format a 1.5 tb external hard drive to FAT32 so that my ps3 would be able to use it. Give it to a friend to copy movies on for me and when i get it back, ps3 can't read it. Windows 7 reads the drive as NTFS but wants to format as well... What went wrong? * +

Oh, and another thing is that the drive can only be read by Windows 7. The movies are there on are HD, some files are 8 gigs in size. Could that have messed up the FAT32 format i did? * +

This is confusing. 8gb files won't copy to FAT32. Windows 7 doesn't format drives over 32GB to FAT32, I think, it's exFAT now and that file system does support larger file sizes but the PS3 won't recognise it. * +

Fat 32 only supports files up to 4gb i think * +

fat 32 will only suport files up 2 4 gig, your m8 reformated the drive for you. * +

He couldn't have re-formatted the drive as i left some movies on it, and those movies are there still. Plus, windows keeps saying the drive needs to be formatted, and after i cancel that, i can browse the drive from the folder explorer piece on the left of the window. * +
