Not alot of them worked to start with.. Mine works once in a while.. Put your dvd in close the lid and switch it on.. Its easier to just go out and buy a dvd player.. Its less hassle * +

bro to use dvd player you will need to hack it then you can run pirated games too i had a ps2 i modified it and you can play games and run movies * +

The ps1 certainly wasnt a dvd player but the ps2 certainly is as symbonic says. Any version of ps2 no matter how old should play any uk genuine dvd. If it doesnt you have a fault. If it plays game discs but not dvd's you may have a firmware problem. * +

The original microsoft xbow was capable of playing dvd's but not out of the box, you had to buy what the game shop call a dvd kit which is basically a remote. (just as an example) but the ps2 plays dvd's out of the box without any extras. * +
