Ok so ive ordered 2 Samsung Spinpoint f3 1Tb to raid on my new rig, ive just been looking on sites and youtube n people only seem to be raiding the 500gb version, any reason for this would 500gb raid be fater than a 1Tb raid * +

Look at the technical specs for the drives, read/write speeds. Maybe the 1tb drives are a bit slower because they have more platters 
. The read write speeds will reveal all anyway. * +

Personally because of the amount of data you could have on the drives, I would choose RAID 1 * +
