hi, i have 2 hdd one 160gb and another 500gb currently both are connected and i have back some of my data on the 500gb hdd. now my 160 gb is hdd is slowing down and started making noise, now i want to clone my c partition of my 160 gb hdd to my 500gb hdd, ihave installed acronis true image home 2011 how to do so plese share your knowledge, thanks in advace. * +

there are some option in acronis like clone hdd or add new hdd but in both case the destination hdd' s data will be deleted. i have made 4 partition in my 500gb hdd and in the first partition i want to install. os is xp sp3.Thanks in advance. * +

Jus copy paste the blood data, whats the big deal why do you want to CLONE it * +

clone your c: drive to the first partition, if there's any data in it, move it to another partition and it won't be lost. * +

no point in cloning. just copy the data you want to keep and install an o.s. it will be much faster in the short term and much more reliable in the long... btw 4 partitions on a 500 gig hdd is quite a lot of partitions... i use around 250 just for my o.s. partition. your gonna find you didnt make your partitions big enough very quickly. * +

Dis option is der in acronis bt i don't knew how safety is? But 4 dis i used another software naming XXCLONE. U can do ur job here easily * +

from my experience i tried acronis and was able to backup but was not able to restore.. just giving my 2 cents worth. this was with windows 7 ultimate. * +

thanks 4 all your reply. sorry if i didn't make it clear by cloning i mean i want to restore win xp in my 500gb hdd from my 160gb gdd. how do i do it and with what soft. plz explain and share your knowledge. and by four partitions are 30gb 40gb 195gb and 200gb. first two for xp and win7 respct. * +
