you can use linux live cd to access hard disk 'from the outside' where windows is bunch of dead files and then delete the files you need to delete,then reboot in windows.you can keep that linux on a cd and run anytime you want to do what windows doesn't allow like for example,backup your files when you are unable to boot from hard drive * +
