just let it get back to room temp to be on the safe side, just incase of internal condensation, but most moden hd's are quite safe nowdays, * +

depends on the kind of cold it is. if its a wet kinda cold, ie a lot of moisture outside or its humid in the house, then leave it for a couple of hours to aclimatise. if its a dry cold and just warm in the house there should be no problem with just plugging it in straight away.. if you see moisture condensing on the outside, leave it, if no use it. * +

if youre concerned about moistute, bu*g it in the tumble dryr for a short cycle. thatll sort it out
