hey guys i'm running a dual core 2.56ghz processor 2gig ram 1.25tb harddrive and a 9500gt 512mb graphics card. I have around R1500 to spend on a HD screen which i really want for my 21st birthday. Any suggestions? * +

HDTV resolution is not as good as a moniter . Just measure out how much space you have on your desktop , and buy a good flatscreen moniter .There are so many brands that it is darn near impossible to give an honest reccomendation . Just stick with names you trust and search for user reviews . Sony is a good brand to compare to . * +

My suggestion would be find a nice 20/21 inch 16 x 10 monitor with HDMI/DVI and look for reviews as has been said. There billions of monitors to pick from which may or may not be a good thing. Maybe you could even stretch to a 1920 x 1080p model 22/23inches but dont expect to run games at that resolution without turning down the settings a fair bit. Personally i like 16:10 * +

the 95gt can only do 1080i resilutions so getting a 1080p monitor would be pretty much a waste with that card 16.10 would be a better choice but still you will have to drop your settings a fair way to play games at 30 fps. * +

as spartan says. if you get a samsung 1080p monitor it will allow 1080i input for movies and desktop but your performance doing virtualy anything will be compromised somewhat due to strain on the gfx. you may notice flicker/shearing or even worse pausing or even freezing while your gfx buffers, odd i know but it happens on some media players. especaily when ff/ rw/ shuttling. best go for a more * +
