take the cpu off and check it for thermal paste, then check the socket, if you need to clean it use a fine toothbrush or a hard paintbrush dipped in thermal paste remover (dont use anything else). 1s clean make sure you thoughrly dry it... if its a pinsocket then you will need to be especialy carefull. 1s done mount and apply new paste only. make sure you put the paste on even and thinly with no * +

air bubbles between the hsf and the cpu, rotating slightly a few times left and right will do it, and secure firmly. turn on and see if your setup works. clear bios and load optomized defaults at the first boot. reboot and hope for the best. *
