I have 1 HDD, 2 partitions, C and D. 1st i installed xp on c. then i installed win 7 on D. Now i am going to reinstall xp on C with Format the partion. Now my question is after install xp, pc should detect xp and win7 both or only xp? please answer as soon as possible!!! thanx * +

if your going to re install put windows on partition c it wiill be the fastest part of the drive * +

i am asking because generaly if i format c then it will not detect any other drives os, specially when two dirves xp installed. but here win 7 is installed in d. so can i use xp and win 7 both? or i have to install win 7 again after xp install?? * +

just reinstall xp on drive c and leave windows 7 partition , when booting you should be presented with a choice of what os to load * +

why do you need xp . i havent used xp since vista was released . windows 7 has compatibilty mode for xp , i have not had any compatibility problems with anythin i have tried to run on windoes 7 * +

so you are recomend to use win7. i have it but i didnt use yet properly. i am using sony ericsson and i dont know whether it can be install or not.... thats why i am using xp. can you tell me if i install win7 in c, then how to uninstall win7 from d without format? * +

yes you can. Just reinstall xp on c. Goto start / run / and type msconfig.msc and goto boot o's option and select both. * +
