sounds like a fille virus. you need a cold boot scan. or go to bleepingcomputer.com speak to a consultant. No software will clean it for you completely without the help of a expert * +

somehow i beg to differ with the above poster. you don't need an expert. its just one of those pesky virus that creates folders having the same name as your folders and most often those folders are empty, your space is taken but you cant view your files. if you had a good AV on your system you could have prevented it. use avira as suggested and then uncheck hide system files in file options. * +

you supposed to show folder THEN move your stuff to new folders that you create that arent hidden. * +
