RJ-45 is the name of the connector . Cat5 is the name of the cable .

Peer to peer is file sharing . the cable and connecters together can be called LAN lines or ethernet cables . * +

Connecting computers directly doesn't have a real name. You need a crossover-cable to connect them directly or you can cut your RJ-45 off and put a new one onto the cable with the wires reconfigured. Peer-to-Peer means there isn't a server. Each PC has its own control. * +
