still got the problem and iv downloaded net limiter 3. there is a file call 'unrelated' and when i click on it loads of ip's show up and some of these are uploading/downloading. if i click on one of the ip's it says 'incoming connection from port 764.456.5434(eg) to port 0 and there is no way to stop them, i dont even know what they are. * +

other files that are active are 'generic host' 'system' 'ms shell' and 'windows host' are these normal things that should be uploading/downloading? i think the 'unrelated' file may be the prob due to the amount of different ip's that come up when you click on it but i dont know....any ideas? * +

It makes my pc run sooo slow, its took me ages to write this and cost 40meg

When i click on one of the ip's in the unrelated folder, at the side it says 'protocol:Imp user:unknown, then it has a local adress and remote adress (both with different ip's) and says remote zone:internet. and out going connection has just popped up and it says 'outgoing connection to ....grrr its dissapeared now but it was a different port than 0. * +

if i show path of 'unrelated' folder it shows me system32/svchhost.exe and under that show 4 procecces followed by four numbers...eg 'process 1532' arrrrgh this is a nightmare
