for those using windows 7 how intrusive is it? i have installed the pure win7 ultimate that you get links for all over the net. i installed it however i noticed something strange. the UAC kicks in whenever i install anything. have noticed this on a mates pc too. my prior win7 never had that. i could install anything without screen going dim. why the difference? * +

uac in windows 7 is ment to protect system files and user files. You can avoid this by right click the app launcher and select run as admin. It will ask for permission next time it wont. * +

thats the thing, i never had any of that with my prior win7 ultimate at all. i was under the influence that all windows 7 are like that. till i tried this so called official genuine windows 7. thats the reason i asked. looks like what i thought to be genuine win7 is not so and in the settings the slider is at the default position. strange. * +

install ready driver plus. You can get it at speedguide.net site. You already running you acount as a admin don't go downgrade your security even more by turning it off. It might be the only thing saving you from data loss one day * +

i went back to my good ol win7 which although the slider is at the default position i dont get any of those UAC messages whenever i decide to do anything. i was just perplexed how both win7 ultimate could be so different. hate UAC thats why i even skipped Vista and moved to win7. looked up readydriver plus zazza18 but theres no need for it. everything works smoothly. just avira refusing to update. * +
