i've got a question, can i run 1gig an 256mb of ram at the same time on my pc? its a ddr2.both work at the same frequencies but they're different brands. wil it bug*er up my pc if i do that? * +

Only got the 1gig today.had the 256 on my pc from the time we bought the pc. just wanted to know if it was safe to run them both at the same time.dont wana stuff up my pc or the new ram.the guy at the shop said i can run them together but i wanted a second opinion * +

the speeds the same? are the latenceys? and volts? if so then yes it should be fine if the latenceys are hugley different say by more than 1 point on the first 3 and 4 points on the 4 as in 4-4-4-15 to 6-5-5-24 then no dont use the smaller stick if you can get all the ram to work at the latencey of the 1 gig stick then yes use it. * +

lol ok lets say the frequencies aren't the same an i used them both, what wud happen? and how do i find out the frequencies and stuff? i'm no computer geek so i'm clueless when it comes to stuff like this * +
