Today I booted my pc and found that sound hardware is not detectable ? Their is no red marks in device manager either.. but in notification bar sound symbol has got red mark and no sounds comin from my speakers.... I tried two different sets of speaker no luck..any way I can fix it ? * +

i looked at your screen shot and it says new hardware detected . what have you added ? also have you messed about in the bios and disabled your onboard sound ? * +

That comes up when I click on speaker icon. I downloaded Microsoft Automated trouble shooting service setup from MS site still its not fixed * +

I have g31 motherboard theirs nothing like sound in bios setup * +

if you have onboard sound then there will be a option in your bios to enable/dissable it * +

click start and type . services.msc .hit enter , then look for windows audio and windows audio endpoint builder . check that both have started * +
