have you checked the task sheduler to see if theres a task been enabled that auto screen locks? also if you google ''screen lock windows XP'' it may lead you to a solution as there is to much infor to cut and paste here. * +

You can try removing the drive and then hooking it up to another pc as a slave . Then try wiping it from safe mode . But it is an infection risk to the other pc if that rootkit is a worm.***

now.. @pw.. is this file exact same on let's say two or three scans ?? if yes.. write down the exact path... start pc from any linux live distro and delete file from linux.. it is that simple... *
