Do you mean a CAD , computer aided design , program ? If so I think there is an open source one out there , try google . If you mean for a game , that is pretty much restricted to specific game engines like Worldcraft for the Half-Life or Cryengine for Far Cry . I think there may be something open source for game building in OpenGL and D3D , but that is way out of my league . * +

Hmm , I don't know much about patent laws outside of the States , but you usually need a functioning prototype to get a patent . That was why some of my ideas could not be protected , the technology for a prototype did not exist yet . * +

I wonder if by transforming he meant mecha . There are allready a whole slew of patents issued for all types of primitive mecha . A few are owned by the U.S. Army . *
