There has been a massive amount of confusion with these rumours, this series more than any other i have seen. Barts SEEMS to be tweaked juniper. Juniper being the 58x0 series. Cayman SEEMS to be the new high end with the architecture update, i.e northern islands. 6970/6950. It might appear that AMD are trying to keep prices artificially high by NOT replacing the 57x0 series with equal names faster * +

Thats not following . You all don't know anything from the pre directX 7 days . ATI ran out of series numbers and had to start over again . I have heard enough of this ballyhoo when ATI introduced Crossfire . Like Nvidia had the balls to try that .

The main difference between the two are your own tech level . Nvidia are for users who just want to plug and play . ATI are for the serious crowd that know how to build a computer and know what they are doing . It's like the old analogy between racing fords and chevy . Anybody can make a chevy go fast , but it is an art form to make a ford go fast .
