Just switched over to Mac after being on Windows for years and years, do I need an AV? Guy in the Apple store said I don't need to bother with one yet the AV companies say there are trojans and malware out there. Don't really wanna fork out for something I don't need. * +

its better to be safe than sorry, avira has a mac version and works well enough, now that steam is offering mac compatable games the chances are trojans and dialers will start to apear as the pirates start cracking the games to be used on mac's. * +

Mac's are mainly vulnerable to trojan horses and joke programs . But with so many Mac's are being sold , sooner or later somebody is going to write a mean one again . Don't forget about that one back in the late 80's that caused some of the moniters on the IIe's to catch fire . that was only two lines of code . * +
