need some advice. i want to turn my pc into a multimedia pc. that any file i throw at my pc it plays. do i really need to install any codec pack and if so which one? i use winamp for audio and kmplayer for video. also if i'm to attemp tv and radio or any streaming what software is best at this? preferably free or open source but if paid for its ok too. thanks * +

no i dont. i meant streaming online. sorry if that part wasn't clear. surely i'll need real player for real audio. also a friend came over and had some movie ripped into a 700mb file but the quality was awesome. however on my pc the video plays fine but the audio lags. tried with kmplayer and even vlc and mpc but its all the same. any idea what could be causing this * +
