depends on your motherboard what cpu you can have, am3 cpus cant be used on am2+ boards but am2 cpu's can be used on am3 boards. *

same goes for am2+ cpus and am2 motherboards. also am2 cpus and am2 motherboards. if your looking to upgrade your cpu and you dont have the correct board then its a waste of cash.... so what board do you have? *
